Pictures!

1. Felicity in front of the pine tree.
2. Felicity canters off in the field!
3. Felicity goes on a walk with Penny to get holly for the fireplace.
5. Felicity draws a picture of a cardinal for art class.
6. Felicity sits on her new bed in her room.
7. Felicity picks pine from the tree to decorate the mantel.
8. Pretty Felicity!
9. Felicity starts to canter.
10. Penny in her stall.
11. Felicity sits at the cafeteria table with a carton of milk.
12. Felicity cozily sits in the new chair by the Christmas tree. If you're wondering why there are still presents there, it's because half of the dolls open gifts on Christmas, and those that don't celebrate Christmas open gifts on New Years. Since Felicity came after Christmas, she will open gifts on New Years.
13. Felicity on her bed again in her room.
PS: BTW, these pictures may be out of order. It's hard to tell on blogger, and I can't believe this is the 30th post, and Gwen may be coming from a friend! But most likely not. This arrangement may have an X on it hopefully.

Review

Tomorrow will be the pictures. Srujana is charging her camera as I type this. Felicity has been getting along with me. I think Rebecca just dislikes her because now she has to share her bedroom.
School starts on Monday. I have to turn my project in. We have to design a creature that can adapt to the climate of a planet in our solar system other than earth. My creatures are called skritters.
Here is a review of all our stuff.

1. Chalkboard for Science Classroom-Nice!
2. Basketball/Vault-Way neat! Combines two of my most favorite things!
3. Candy-Deliciosa!
4. Sonali's Outfit-Jealousia! It has pink and yellow and purple polka dots and is long sleeved and comes with a knit shawl thing and a denim mini skirt and pink and yellow polka dot flats.
5. Floral Fun Chair-Really Neat! It's nice being able to sit on something other than the floor for once.
6. I Like Your Style Outfit-Neato!
7. I Like Your Style Book/CD-Boring.
8. Rebecca's New Transistor Radio-Soooo neat!
9. Jewlery-Cool!
10. Doll-Really Cool!
11. Purse-Very elegant.
12. Hula Skirt and Lei-AWESOME!
But Srujana was given a paintable doorhanger, a board game, an art kit, a can of markers, a dictionary, and a box of butter cookies. Lucky person!
Julie
PS: If you are wondering where Srujana bought all this, most of the items here on the list are homemade. If you are wondering how to, Srujana or I would be happy to tell you. They are all really simple and easy. Except the radio does not look very good at all.

Stuff

So today was the first snow! We went outside and had a photo shoot, but Srujana's camera ran out of batteries the minute we finished. Srujana will re-charge and post the pictures tomorrow or the next day. Is it not eerie the way these things happen?
Neela left school today to visit family and friends back home for the new year. She lives in a tiny village called Shona Gram and has a cousin named Keerthana who would visit them.
Along with that, we were given stuff for Christmas! Mostly candy and small things from friends, but from Srujana, Felicity was given her doll from home! Sonali was given a new outfit and a hula skirt. All the dolls were given a chair to share and we all were given some jewlery. And last but not least, a vault/basketball hoop thing for the gym-mini-doll sized!
Well, that's my quick post for today! Bye!

New Girl and Picture Stories

Felicity arrived! She came out looking very pretty and Rebecca grumpily took her to her room. She definitely was not so happy about the whole thing. Felicity asked Rebecca if she could give her a tour, but Rebecca simply said, "No way, Jose." Felicity frowned and said, "Who is Jose?"

Tomorrow I will put up a picture story about the new girl if I can. It will come up soon anyhow. Felicity and I are getting along anyhow. So it will be all about Felicity.

School

Today is our last day of school! We did a nature lab in science today. It was fun. Now it's lunchtime and I'm posting this. AG Academy was fun. AND, Srujana made a new desk for two mini dolls, whoever gets there first. Sonali and Neela have to sit on the floor though. I feel sorry for them. Julie and Ruthie made it there first today. And Mrs. Jeanne, the music person, started putting up signs telling what to bring to class each day. Our school is becooming less cluttered and more organized every day!
Srujana is on Winter Break now too, and she's going to a haircut and then the movies today! Also, we are recording all our songs, and making it into an album called "Happy Holidays!"
As Julie, who is taking Spanish now that it is offered at school, would say, "A mi me gusta cantar!"

Hairstyles!

Srujana gave us all new hairstyles! I have the best one, I think. It's a twisty high braid sort of thing. Sonali's is pretty too. Ruthie's is pretty nice. Guess what? We have this new circus ball for the big dolls. The annoying thing about being a Girl From Many Lands is that you never get much stuff. But I found another present in the parlor! (Hee-hee, it's from me!) It's for Sonali. I'm still thinking about Ruthie's present. Hmmmm....I want to get her the best present ever!

Srujana and her dad are going Christmas Shopping tommorow, and they'll get us a tree most probably! So I'm very excited!

I'm being very secretive about my present. Sneaking around, spending most of the time in my dorm. Ruthie usually is in the science classroom making up labs. She was sick for a while with flu, so she missed a lot of the final labs and assignments, which are 50% of our grades. I think she only has one lab and two assignments and two tests to make up now.

I decided I like posting! Rebecca invited me again.

Singing Show!

We are having a Holiday Singing Show! It's wonderful! We are all singing a solo, and then two group songs. The first group song is "Where Did We Go Wrong?" It's a boring song in my opinion. My solo is first. I'm singing "Hannukah Oh Hannukah". Neela is next and is singing this slow Telugu song, even though she's not Telugu. She's singing "Yalo, Yalo". It's sad and boring. Julie is than singing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", than, it's Ruthie, singing "Frosty the Snowman", and than Sonali singing a song that's also Telugu. "Ola Mo, Oh Naino!".
AND THE BAD NEWS! Felicity is coming! And she's sharing a room with me! She's coming by Christmas, and she is a mini. Since I'm the only one who doesn't have a dorm mate, and she's a mini....oh! I am going to put tape in the middle of the room dividing it! Ugh!!!! She'll hog my radio!
Bye!

All About Me

नमस्कारम। My name is नीला सेन । Namaskaram! My name is Neela Sen. I came here to Oregon, USA in December 1938-on Christmas! I was the first doll. Rebecca and Julie are making me post, so I decided to post about myself.
It's a puzzle why Rebecca and Julie wanted me to post. But I'll post anyways. I love math and singing. I love swimming and climbing trees, and my favorite animal is a cow and my favorite color is blue. Neela means blue. I have a sister named Usha whom is married. I don't have a best friend really, but I guess you could say Ruthie and I are pretty close. We share a dorm.
I wear a red sari all the time, and sometimes I wear something Srujana made. సృజన is OK.
Well......oh, Ruthie and I share a Christmas stocking, and I have a present already in it! I'm so happy. I wonder what it is.....

Comments

Here are a few of my own comments:

1. I love comments! Not to be rude or anything, but....
2. P.E. is awesome now! OMG, we have, now, a......balance beam! I mean, is it not amazing! This is the first sports equipment other than playground balls and hula hoops we have had ever at our school! It is in the gym, and it's actually olympic sized! (For Dolls), what's sad is that it's only for mini dolls. It's too small for Sonali and even Neela. Julie is the only one interested in gymnastics anyways though.
3. We have stockings on the mantel of our new fireplace now! Thank you Avery-here for the idea!

Well, I have to go help Julie with her balance beam routine now.....

20th Post!

Wow! A month about, and twenty posts already!
Aaaaaannddddd......it was the first day of our new-and-improved school! I should have known it was coming! So many changes!
1. The school name is now The American Girl School of Advanced Musical Study. Or AGSAMS! Long!
2. All the dolls are in one class, and we switch from place to place.
3. We now have the option of religious school on Sunday's (for all the religions we have at school of course!)
4. Ahhhh!!!! School on Saturday's, and no more Friday's. Weird schedule.
5. Better looking classrooms, more instruments, and better food! Yay!

Yesterday was our first day of school, and it went well. I decided to take a Jewish class, but I am the only student. Hanukkah was on Friday, and I went home to visit my family. It was so nice. We lit the menorah, and I wore my holiday dress. Today, I practiced bass clef scales by voice until it cracked. Ugh! I hate D Major scales!

No-Kaya Conversation

Um...so....we have had this no-more-Kaya sort of conversation. No one here really does want Kaya. Here is how the conversation went.
(We are looking at a picture of Kaya in the AG Catalog....

Julie: Why does Srujana like her so much? She just has two other outfits!
Neela: Pretty much, she likes her because she rides an Appaloosa, and was the first AG series she read.
Rebecca: Really?
Neela: Yep.
Ruthie: Maybe she is not so bad, I mean she boasts, but she comes out strong in the end of the series....
Julie: Who cares?
Me: Julie is right. She also sounds old. I mean, really, 1764.
Ruthie: Maybeeeee.......
Well, that's how it went! I now need to work on painting a picture of an aspect of science for art. I like our art teacher, but she gives sooooo much homework. Sorry for not posting lately. Rebecca has been gone to visit family, and Julie and I was busy.

Apology

First, I need to make an apology. I should not have said something that I said to Sonali........I yelled at her that Kaya was not bad and that she was being a mean, gossipy bully. I said that I was right in the first place that she was a mean bee. She grew quiet and went on to her dorm. I felt bad immediately. Oh, I'm so sorry Sonali!
Next, I want to show off my French.
Boujour! Comment alla-vouz?
Merci bo couer.
Le 7 decembre.
Voila!
Not very good, no? I know, I need to work on it. I don't think I spelled right at all. Oh-well.
Bye!

Kaya is Bad

Srujana has not had any voters on the poll, so she is deciding to choose Kaya or mini Felicity. I am pleading not Kaya. My best friend Chrissa said that in Iowa, there was a boarding school nearby where there was a Kaya. She always was boasting and bragging away. Kaya is bad and shouldn't come. She could be a bully!
Oh, and in case you didn't catch it, I'm Sonali Matthews. In school, I'm starting to catch up. I miss Gwen and Chrissa, but Rebecca and Julie and I have formed a group. Neela and Ruthie are nice, but I am not really friends with them. Science is my second class, and favorite class. We are studing The Dinosaur. At least that's what our teacher calls it. For my elective, I chose French. It's pretty fun I guess.
Christmas prep is coming a lot great. We haven't put up a tree quite yet, but I have a holiday dress and new shoes! Can't wait till Christmas!

Vacation!

Hi, Rebecca here! And so are pictures!

Winter vacation is coming up soon. So I am making a list of places I want to go.
1. California. Ahhhh!!!!!! Warmth! This is the most likely destination, since Srujana's cousins live there, and her other cousins and uncle and aunt are visiting.
2. New York is crowded at this time of year, and cold, but it is marvelous! I want to go home to 1914! Also very likely, at least for a day.
3. Vermont. Very snowy! Yay! (Very unlikely.)

Rebecca
PS: Srujana is attempting, now, a dress with buttons! Oh-no.........this is why I hate being a mini doll. Sonali will be getting a long sleeved shirt and skirt Srujana bought a while ago for a big AG she "would get someday"....
Bye!

New Books!

Sorry, Julie and Rebecca are out for the weekend. They are helping Sonali with school stuff, catching up, decorating her dorm, unpacking, you know. Anyways, they asked me to do the post today. Unfortunately, that means I can't put up a picture. I don't know how to download the pictures of Srujana's camera yet. But I am going to make a list of the new American Girl books! From my favorite-to-least favorite.
1. Rebecca's Fashion Studio-Srujana might make Rebecca and actually pretty dress using those as a model!
2. The Just for Fun Books-Lot's of neat puzzles!
3. The All About You Quiz Book-I really love to quiz others on themselves.....
4. Button Crafts-Love buttons! Especially button crafts!
5. Flower Loom Crafts-Fun!
6. Earth Smart Crafts-Awesome!
7. Art Starts- Not so new, but I love art!
8. The Big Book of Notes- Again, not so new, but very cool!
9. The Book Club Kit- Way neat! But not that new at all.
10. School and Earth Smarts Planner- Only because it has the word school in it......
11. Doll School-We already have and use this, and I dislike it because it comes with doll-sized quizzes.
12. Poster Puzzle Book- I think American Girl ran out of ideas.

I hope you like this report on the new books. I couldn't think of anything else to blog about.

Winter, Nellie, and Kit

Winter's a coming soon in just a few days,
And it will be coming oh-so-soon!
Just trying to write a song here! Winter is a coming. And I have news. Srujana gave up on Samantha, but is thinking of a Nellie or Kit.
Other than that, we are studying, officially, events from 1980-2009 in class. We all have to write a timeline of the year assigned for Friday. My year is 1987. Yay me! A bunch of bad things happened. Great, just great. I'm trying to focus on only good things, like some place in Canada being renamed Iqualiut. But is it ever hard!
Wish me luck!
Rebecca Rubin
PS: Srujana-"If I do decide to get Nellie or Samantha or an old GOTY, it will be a JLY in disguise, so I don't have to pay all that extra money."

Monday, November 30, 2009

Uh-oh~trouble!

Well, 2010 is coming up. And Srujana is thinking about getting another doll! A JLY with chocolate brown hair and brown eyes called Samantha. Ahhh!!!!!!!!!!! I only just started getting used to Sonali.
Other than that, it was Sonali's first day today. Our first class is Social Studies. We are done with Ancient Egypt (finally!) and are moving on to American history. Our teacher said we may switch back later in the year to do Jews, but she decided that she was tired of Ancient Civilizations, especially Egypt and Mesopotamia. We made a list of companies in social studies that were bought by other companies. It was boring, especially when she lectured about the economy and bla-bla-bla. I think Sonali now has a bad impression of our teacher. I feel bad for Mrs. Smith because she usually is nice and fun. But today...broderbund, this, that, whatever!

Okay, so in terms of Holiday clothes, we all are predicting that Neela and I will have the best ones. Neela's sari is bright red, Christmas colors anyways, and because Rebecca now has her own pink holiday dress Srujana made, I will be wearing Rebecca's red dress. Srujana decided that Neela's dress was much too ugly. Ruthie will wear her everyday outfit, and Rebecca will wear that awful pink thing. Sonali will be wearing her everyday t-shirt, pinafore, and jeans for Christmas too.
Other than clothes, there is a little bit going on. Neela decided she likes Ritz crackers. I know this is pretty random to put on a blog. But she never liked Ritz crackers much. She added lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese and decided that a Ritz cracker sandwich is delicious. Today, I found out that Sonali likes Ritz crackers with a tiny bit of ranch dressing, pepper, and a tomato. I tried it, and it was delicious!

Yours Truly,
Julie Albright

PS: Sorry for the delay on pictures! They will be up by Saturday though for sure.

Presents and Holiday Preperations

Here are the list of presents already wrapped and ready for the dolls:
For Me-A square box?
A Fire Screen for Neela I made.
A Jewelery Box for Ruthie-For this, I put pictures of kings and queens and fairy tale sorts of things.
A Native American Style Bag for Julie-For this, I'm using brown fabric and lots of colored triangles.
?-Sonali
I hope everyone enjoys the presents I picked out!

Holidays

Well now that the holiday season has officially started, we can start talking about that. As gifts, I have figured out Neela. Neela gets a straw hat from me. I know that Neela wanted one. For Rebecca, Ruthie, and Sonali, I'm not sure. I don't really know them that well as this is their first Christmas here. Hmmmm......still thinking.....
Goodbye!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Just so you know, this picture does
not belong to me. It belongs to Doll Closet. This is just a doll in a pilgrim costume to entertain you. Srujana took a picture of me and the other dolls as we were waiting for Sonali to arrive. It will be posted sometime this week.
Sonali is actually very nice! She came in and said shyly, "Hi, I am Sonali Matthews." We are having a Thanksgiving party! Is that not great? It is to celebrate Sonali, and Ruthie will be playing a flute duet with Sonali too.
Like I said, Rebecca and Neela's outfits were not so great. I wore my normal outfit, neatly washed and without the belt, and Ruthie wore her dress, nicely pressed, with my leather belt.
Well,
A Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Closing for the day,
Julie Albright

Sonali's Coming!

AHHHHHHH!! Sonali has already been ordered! And Srujana didn't even tell us! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! She was ordered last week! So she may come tommorow or the next day! Ahhhhh!!!
Well, Thanksgiving is coming up. We dolls will be having a feast! And Srujana expects Sonali to arrive by then, so she will be there too! We will post our first pictures. Barley, papaya, red peppers, fish, and yogurt and bacon is what I want to have. But we will probably have the casual Thanksgiving dinner along with brown bread and butter, strawberries, green peppers, shellfish, and milk. Yum! Thinking about food makes me hungry.
In class, we are reading The Egyptian Cinderella. We are studying Egypt and cultural stories, so this fits in perfectly. It's a good story.

Monday, November 23, 2009

We will be seeing a movie! Yes, A Christmas Carol in 3-d next week! Wonderful, no? Anyways, in pre-algebra, I began to think about Sonali. Maybe she won't be a mean bee. After all, all the other Sonali's in the blogosphere are nice. I am starting to be neutral on the situation. By the way, I love Melody Valerie's holiday line too! But I don't think Srujana can afford any of it right now. She has still a little bit more to go for Sonali. But she is definetely getting her.

New Clothes!

Hello people! Guess what? Srujana will be sewing, or trying to sew a new Indian langa jacket for Neela. A langa jacket is a very short jacket with a skirt. She also will be trying to make Rebecca a dress. I am pretty relieved that I'm not part of this. Last time Srujana claimed she was going to sew a magnificent dress for me, it turned out to be a long sleeved jacket and a pair of pants with lots of threads sticking out and it came apart in three months. She hand sews for us mini dolls, so that makes it even harder for her. She made an OK dress for Ruthie though...a pastel pink dress with lace trim. She decided to use some dresses from American Girl as a model.

OTHER BIG HUGE GIGANTIC NEWS!
SONALI IS COMING!
We all hope that this is just a rumor, except Neela and Ruthie, but Sravya keeps talking about having 80 dollars.....ten more.......and then five.....fourteen for shipping....... and so and so. Will she be nice? Or mean? Hmmm.......we wonder.......
Julie

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Well, here are my favorite books. We got the idea from Roses are Read, by the way. Anyhow, here they are!
1. Weedflower-A book with class. It has an elegant style of writing and cover. It is about a girl who lives in an internment camp during World War 2.
2. Kira-Kira-An excellent book by the same author.
3. Bat 6-This is for the Oregonian baseball lover and for anyone else. An awesome story! Srujana reccomended these first ones to me. She is crazy about historical fiction, partly because of American Girl.
4. Pippi Longstocking-Hilarious!
5. Matilda-A book about a clever funny girl.
6. Chinese Cinderella: A story of an Unwanted Daughter-Sad, true, but a really nice story
7. Call me Hope: Another Oregonian book. But it is really for anyone.
8. Girl from Yamhill: Yet another Oregonian book. This one Srujana is crazy about. It is an autobiography of Beverly Cleary, an Oregonian author.
9. On My Own Two Feet-Sequel to Girl from Yamhill.
10. Climbing the Stairs-Neela reccomended this one to me. It is about when the British were ruling India. You must read it! It has to do a little with social class also, and female rights, among other things.

Introduction: Part 2

Hey there! I am Julie Albright. Here is more about ourselves. As you don't know, we all go to the Daisy American Girl Academy of Music. We all play instruments. I play the drums. Rebecca and Neela sing. Our school is tiny, and we have an elective choice of French or home economics. I chose home economics as did Neela, but Rebecca chose French. The kitchen is called "The Cooking Zone", and we bake something different every day or sew once in a while. Today, we baked cookies. Chocolate chip! My favorite.
I'm looking forward to blogging as well as Rebecca, but Neela doesn't seem too interested. Oh well. Bye!

Introduction

Hi! I'm Rebecca Rubin. I came here to Oregon in May. This is a new blog that Srujana created for us. The dolls here are Neela Sen, Julie Albright, me, and Ruthie Smithens, in order of arrival. We are all minis except Neela, who is a Girl of Many Lands. We all hope that Srujana will not get a big doll, because they may be mean. But she is saving up anyways. We don't know who for. Well, this is our first post, and I hope you like it. This is just an introduction.
Talk more later!
Bye!
Rebecca R.
