The Volleyball Team!

There is a volleyball team at school now! Yes, it's true, on Monday, April 5th, the Danger Daisies hit the net! It's so cool. We only had horseback riding, gymnastics, Spanish, drama, art, nurse assisting, and teacher assisting for electives. You have to take two. One sports, and one more academic. I used to take Spanish and gymnastics, but I switched out of gymnastics and started volleyball! You're allowed to take two sports though. Tryouts were on Monday. Here is the list:
Team Captain and First Server: Julie Albright
Second Server: Neela Sen
Third Server: Rebecca Rubin
Fourth Server:Gwen Thompson
Fifth Server: Ruthie Smithens
Sixth Server: Kaya Aton'My
Manager: Sonali Matthews
The only thing is, that I can't believe Kaya made the team-she actually does have good aim, but she is a better horse-rider. Well, it can't be too bad.

Kaya

We did not have school today, because of Take a Walk in the Park day. Our teachers and principal said nobody should have to go to school on such a day. We all took a long walk in the park, and then Kaya and I came back to have tea and bake cookies.

We laughed and made lettuce, cheese, watercress, pickles, and tomato sandwiches for tea, and then ate in the kitchen. But Rebecca kept on floating into my mind. I kept thinking about her, and how she said being friends with Kaya would be a total mistake. But I tried to push it out of my mind.
Well, Kaya seems pretty nice, so I won't worry too much.

Nothing is Happening

OK, absolutely nothing is going on with the dolls according to Rebecca, yeah, yeah, I know, Kaya and Sonali have been going time traveling to 1841 and 1764, ect, ect, and this is off-topic, but I’ll just talk about my day today.

Period 1-Corrected our math homework.

Period 2-Took a science test on heat.

Period 3-Badminton free play day!

Period 4-Played Spanish games, a listening activity, flashcards, and corrected our Spanish homework.

Lunch-My friend had detention for "being unprepared". She did not pick up her little remote thing for a test. My most evil teacher gave it.

Period 5-Watched the Disney movie "Hercules".

Period 6-Read a Saddle Club book, returned it, and did a sudoku for math extra credit.

Period 7-Watched the rest of "Hercules."

Violin Lesson-Perfected my Tartini Sonata!

Unbelievable!

My new friend Sonali me back in time! Back in my time! '66! I am no of date, but......no......My English is no good. Well, Sonali me '66 and I my house. My sisters, brothers, mother, and father there. We go to Kausta and eat in she house. Delicious food! My first good meal since I first go to school. My mother and father go me there, I no go to schools here, in the '66. Bad food, bad dresses, bad. Schools where Nimmipu girls and boys go. Bad, bad, bad schools! Sonali talk Saturday or Friday.
Kaya
(Note from Sonali: Kaya is talking about boarding schools where the United States government is paying bad people to teach Native American to be "civilized". Kaya's parents thought that it was better if Kaya went to the future to learn how to survive in the "new" way of life, rather than with the very people trying to change it. I think Kaya's English is improving. Don't you? Gotta go. I have to calculate 97 times 330 and a bunch more like that! I also have to freeze some cold facial cream for a party at school-I'm in charge of face painting! I have to make the paint!)

Rumors

Rumors are floating around saying a new girl is coming. The most popular theory is that it is a JLY Samantha. Not much is happening around here. Srujana is almost done with the outfit. Ms. Nimmala, our new math teacher, is giving us hardly any homework, which is nice. I guess that is about it. The new outfit is for Ruthie, for sure. It's pink, her style, and she loves the skirt. Seriously, it's Srujana's second best outfit she made for any doll at all.

PS: I have detention for a week because of what I did. Sonali and Kaya are so annoying!

Friends?

I think.....maybe.....just maybe.......Kaya and I could be friends. I invited her to my dorm today after school for a snack. We lay on the comforter and ate whole grain bread and lowfat grilled cheese sandwich with sirloin beef. Then we had broccoli with condiments and then some cantaloupe. He chatted about school, the weather, and I found Kaya to be a very interesting person. She said she would bring Speaking Rain over for a visit sometime. I said that would be nice. I am also starting to understand her version of English, like if she said;

I am to understand English;it actually means;

I am starting to understand English.

See? Maybe we can be friends. Good friends

Quick Update!

Srajana finished her Greek test in her class on Thursday. Usually, her teacher takes a loooonngggg break from teaching anything in social studies new after the test, but on Friday, they jumped right into Rome. I also think she might be making a new outfit for somebody. Probably Ruthie, since she has been given the fewest number of clothing items. It could be another mini doll though, perhaps Julie. But Jules hates skirts.....I kind of miss hanging out with her, but Gwen and Kaya are better friends. I cannot believe how Ruthie acted! Ruthie, the nicest girl in school.......
Ugadi, the Indian new year, is coming on Tuesday. Srujana will probably post about it or make Neela or me post about it. It's a South Indian holiday, and they make a pacheedi, which is an Indian sauce. It's special because you mix something sweet, something salty, something bitter, and something sour. It's horrible, and Srujana makes it for her family. Last year, she used ice cream, potato chips, licorice, and lemon juice. Her mom did not touch it, but she swallowed a bit and Srujana's dad ate a little too. Hopefully it will taste better this year! Yahoo......I have to go do laundry now for the dormitory. It's my week to do so.

It's Me!

Hey! It's Sonali again and I am in an amazing mood. It started off with Rebecca's prank. For starters, it started with me sitting in the parlor drinking hot chocolate. I was by the fire and drinking my hot chocolate with a book. I felt very pretty when Rebecca came back. She said
"Sonal, I'm....not too happy about what happened the other day. I want to make it up to you. There is something in the hall I think you will like."
"No way, Rebecca. No present you ever give me will make me forgive you."
"Well.....it's not something.....it's....um......someone."
"Sure?"
"Sure."
I went outside and peeked into the hall. I didn't see anything. I knew it was a trick. I was about to go inside again when Kaya walked by with a camera. I grabbed it from her and went inside the parlor just as Rebecca and Julie were about to toss my library book into the fire! I snapped the camera and took my book back. Just as they realized what happened, I was out the door. But then I realized who was standing by the door as back up. It was Ruthie. One of my best friends. She strangled my right arm, but then I saw Kaya. I shrieked "KAYAAAAA!!!" I tossed the book to her and the camera, which I was scared to drop, but she caught them both and raced away out of the dormitory building doors and to the school.
"Don't run! Grab a horse!" Our school is about six blocks from the dorm, and a bus usually comes to take us. We also have horses for emergencies. Kaya raced to the stables and grabbed a black friesian mare named Carmis. She mounted by the mane and raced to the school. I don't know what happened after that, but gossip going around says that Rebecca is in for dead punishment-and if the book was damaged, even worse. I'm so happy! A week of detention? A suspension? No more bullying, I hope!

Sonali Is Mean

Sonali is so mean! She actually shoved leaf lettuce into my mouth when she knows how much I hate it. She is a big traitor. She's as bad as Benedict Arnold. Okay, not as bad, but gosh is she horrible! As soon as she did that, I felt my face grow warm. Everyone in the lunchroom was staring me down. Julie helped me out and I spat out the leaf lettuce and we decided on how to get revenge. Sonali will not like it at all. Not one bit.

Another Day

It was another pretty day yesterday. The sun was out and shining. The breakfast was yucky, but can you help that lite microwave popcorn with leaf lettuce and round beef and a choice of orange juice or coffee or buttermilk is just not very appetizing? Kaya pushed her plate away and just picked out the beef and popcorn. She looked suspiciously at the leaf lettuce and did not ask for a drink. She seems to not be eating well. Rebecca was so mean.
"Kaya, why are you not eating?"
"I am eating."
"You are ignoring your leaf lettuce. Don't you know it supplies folic acid??"

I could tell Kaya did not understand one word. I stood up, and told Rebecca;
"You are such a bully! Don't you know Kaya has not tried any of this food before, is just surviving in her English, and is trying to make friends the best she can? Just leave her alone!"
And with that I walked out on her after shoving leaf lettuce into her mouth. She hates leaf lettuce herself actually, and I still can hardly believe I did that. But no one told on me. Kaya later told me;
"I am sorry you that for me."
"That's OK."
"We friends?"
"Yes. Officially." And we shook hands. So Kaya came over yesterday and we increased her vocabulary by a million words. She can now greet, tell time and seasons, count, tell what she likes and dislikes, tell where something is, tell what she likes, tell what is in the classroom, tell what classes she has, and she can name a bunch of foods. So her English is improving, but my relationship with Rebecca is not. What can I do?

Roses are Read Contest Entry

In my opinion, spring is relaxing under a nice, flowery bush in the garden with a book. It is wonderful to just be apart from everything but beauty and a story.

Winner!

Okay! So only one person entered the contest.....awkward......but oh-well. She wins! Yay! Danceacting96 wins! And here is her special post and winning picture.
[Contest+PIctures+007.jpg] The Dolls of Arts Academy Blog is an awesome blog! It's about smart Lailie, the new girl, Alicia, dramatic Kaya, and popular Zoey, and their school. The photography, I believe, has great potential, and even if there were more entries, the blog would have a good chance at winning! So, everyone, check out the Dolls of Arts Academy Blog! It's fairly new, it seems, and I know what it's like to have no comments often, though I am not complaining, so everyone should read her blog and comment.
