Quick Update!

Guess what? Our school is putting on a musical! It has not been announced yet, but we're all excited! Especially me, of course. Also........um......yeah, that was a quick update. I bought a new violin bag for Ruthie, who plays the violin, for her birthday. She really liked it. It's green and white with a light brown leather handle. It's pretty cute! Well bye, and a happy weekend! Don't forget to check out the photo contest three posts back!

Rock Climbing

I hate Kaya, maybe not Sonali, but Kaya. It started in PE. We were doing rock climbing, and we were doing races to the top. We raced in pairs the teacher put us in. Neela was with Rebecca, Ruthie was with Sonali, Felicity was with Gwen, and I was with Kaya. Rebecca gave me a thumbs up, and I knew what to do. When it was our turn, we went a quarter of the way, so it would be an easy move, and then I jumped to grab an easy rock on the wall, Rebecca was expecting that Kaya lose her balance and the whole class would laugh at her, but when I jumped I fell and lost my balance. Neela was spotting me and was so shocked that she lost the rope. I almost fell onto the mat, but Sonali quickly caught the rope from Neela and pulled me back up. Then, Kaya, who didn’t move an inch when I fell, put my hand onto a rock, and we both ended up touching the top at the same time. I despise her! She doesn’t have to meddle so much into other peoples situations! I could’ve easily grabbed a rock! Sonali M. is okay, but why does Kaya even have to be here? I just don't get it.

Glasses

Well….here’s what……..

I an eye. Srujana. I need. That. I my brown eyes, and I that’s the me that’s beautiful. I am the one Sonali the school who, and she’s friends. We go of see the eye, we, the eye, who a like Sonali, me, school she that I. Here’s how the conversation.

Me: (Nothing).

Eye: Just fine?

Me: Yes?

Eye: Have you made any new friends?

Me: Not really.

Eye: How has my niece been to you?

Me: Your?

Eye: Yes, Sonali Matthews? She’s in the lobby right now reading a swim magazine.

Me: Oh.

Eye: I’ll call her in, Sonal? Bangaru thali? (Sonali came into the room.)

Sonali: Ounoo? Oh, hi Kaya.

Eye: I was thinking you could help Kaya find some glasses.

Sonali: Sure! But…um….Rebecca was coming over today…in fact, in a few minutes….

Eye: But don’t you want to help your friend choose a fashionable pair? I’m sure Rebecca would be happy to help. (She looked at me.)

Sonali: OK…..(She spoke hesitantly and then walked out with me.)

We first on a of blue, a pair of, and a of black that like Sonali’s. I on a brown of that I, but Sonali “Nah,”. I on a of. On me, but I, and Sonali too, we! Rebecca, Ruthie, and Neela in. Sonali feet. I . Rebecca. “What’s with you?”

Sonali: I don’t know.

Rebecca: Have you been emailing Tara and Jadyn recently too? Has Kaya inspired you to once again join the Queen Bees, or better known as, the Mean Bees? Is Kaya a member too now? When you visited Chrissa last weekend did you leave her and go hide some people’s valentines? (Sonali was silent. I knew I had to say something, and finally I did. Sonali backed me up, now it was my turn to back her.)

Me: I bad in the I, not I. And Sonali not. You not me. And you Sonali of a, you not. I school and lunch. Sonali, what you?

Sonali: (Sniffling) I love…..slumber parties with friends and…..swi….swimming….(Stammering)

Rebecca: Well, if you accuse me of not knowing Sonali, than maybe you are a bully. After all, your friend boasted, did not take care of her little sister, did not tell Swan Circling the truth AND what is on your face Miss Aton My?

Sonali: That is the pair of glasses that Kaya is not going to get. That incident happened in Kaya’s ninth year. And Kaya….(She and a of and my ears.) this is your pair.

Ruthie: Are you kidding? They look hideous!

Sonali: That’s what you think. (She grabbed my hand and we walked out of the store.)

Induja Athaa! We’re going back now!

Eye: Bye!

Sonali and I that. She go back Julie, she she me. She, we. Srujana and we. Rebecca is. Is Julie. I am of. I that Sonali the school, but……well, she.

Kaya

(P.S. from Sonali: Kaya kept asking me how to spell every single thing I said, and what she said, so I just told her to spell what she knows. Eye means Eye Doctor. It's hard to get the story, but Rebecca was mean to Kaya, basically. Also, don't forget to check out the photo contest on the previous post!)
(P.P.S. from Kaya: Is my vocabulary big?)

What Should I Do?

I love this photo. It's so green,Oregonian and sunny, I think it's Srujana's best ever. It was taken in the morning, so my hair is pretty messy though.

Anyhow, Kaya is having troubles. She is being bullied by none other than Beckie and Jules. It's so weird. We were all great friends, having fun, and then just like that-poof! They turn sort of mean.

Kaya was in the mess hall, with a tray for dinner last night. She picked at her air-popped popcorn, grapefruit, leaf lettuce, skinless meat, and lowfat milk, (1%). She first ate the meat, then the lettuce. She looked suspiciously at the grapefruit before putting her spoon in. When dessert came out, everyone reached for the cakes and candies. Kaya picked out a piece of chocolate cake and a chocolate Hershey's bar. We only have chocolate for dessert on Fridays. Anyways, Rebecca and Julie came up to her and said; "Woah, that's a whole lot of chocolate for someone who hardly touched her dinner." But she hardly touched her dessert either.

I have no sort of idea what to do. Rebecca and Julie are always making jokes about Kaya. Maybe I should not stand with the crowd. But...it's never good to be a bully, which I learned already. Srujana is not much help, since she is busy planning a dance with her friends. What ever should I do?

My First Day of School

Hi. I am Kaya. This is mi post. I could not post pictures. I do not know how. (Note from Rebecca: Kaya does not know much English yet. This is about a third of her English vocabulary.)
First Class-Math-This was a hard thing. I needed a pencil. I sharpen my pencil, and a piece jumps in the sharpener. Rebecca talks; "Pencil Shaving". It is interesting! I touched the shaving. It is good and "rough". The teacher taught us. Graph. We worked on homework. I did not understand.
Second Class-Science-We worked on a quiz. It is hard. It is on radiation. What is radiation? I did not understand. It is the sun?
Third Class-Health-We taught nutrition. It was easy. We read a book.
Fourth Class-Spanish-I don't understand one. It is very hard. Saw one student speak. She very bad. She brown hair.

Lunch-Very bad food and drink. Nutritious, but very bad. (Note from Rebecca: It was whole grain cereal with slices of orange and bok choy. There was some light meat and nonfat fruit yogurt too, so I don't see any problem!)
Fifth Class-Read a book. Midas. He bad. Apollo very good.
Sixth Class-I read a book. Graph homework. Spanish homework.
Seventh Class-We saw a video. It is interesting, and the boys and girls were funny. Also, we worked on a quiz. It is hard.
I need go. Bye! Is my English very good? I am working on punctuation.

Inconformation on Rumors

The dolls just heard rumors about Elizabeth. The truth is, Elizabeth will be coming in at least a month. Because I just brought Kaya here, it's not good morally to have more than one doll a year really, let alone two. Maybe Elizabeth will even come next year. But no time soon. She will however be coming. Tommorow is Kaya's first day of school actually. She needed a lot of time to get settled and know people and western life, so she took a month out. She has not really met people at all though, and I'm worried and excited at the same time.

Couture Review

I was daydreaming about couture yet again yesterday, and other dresses too. I fell in love with these black and white saddle shoes with yellow soles. They are SO cute! Finally, Srujana is taking me shoe shopping to get something, if not those. Oh, and here is our couture/clothing list;
1. Prairie Style Dress-We don't have Kirsten, but this dress is so sweet looking!
2. Kit's Movie Jumper and Blouse-Maybe a replica for Ruthie, if only Srujana could get a sewing machine or handsew better....
3. Rebecca's Valentine Dress-SO cute! (Srujana's looking over my shoulder now with a "really?" expression on her face.)
4. Fancy Valentines Day Aprons and Dishtowels-I can just picture this on me!
5. Winter Outfit with Boots-This would look so nice on Gwen, who borrows my old thin blue jacket every day.
6. Flowered Swimsuit-Kaya NEEDS a swimsuit! She only has the dress that she came in, so she gets that soaked every time she enters the water.
7. Springy Floral Dress-For me, of course. I mean, it's sooooo pretty!
8. Raincoat and Boots-Kaya needs these too. You can't always stay inside when it rains.
9. Outdoor Play Outfit-For me. It would be perfect for the next time I go camping.
10. Sports Riding Outfit-This outfit for me is to die for! I hope the helmet is safe though.
Okay, that's it. Now I have to go do shoe shopping.
Bye!

New Doll!

WE'RE GETTING A NEW DOLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it is true, we are getting the one, the only, ELIZABETH COLE!

Okay, enough of all that. Yes, we are getting Elizabeth. Srujana has almost enough money. So we will be buying Elizabeth, and she will come here to escape the war for one, and be with Felicity. We are all very excited. She will be ordered in maybe a week or so, but we were so excited! I feel like I just want to sing!

Goodbye,
Neela

Start of the Olympics!

Welcome to the 2010, 21st Winter Olympics in Vancouver!
Happy Olympics!

Sorry for the short post, by the way. But the computer crashed a minute ago, and it took an hour to reboot it and now I have to go to an astronomy clinic.
Bye!

Happy Olympics Day!

Happy Winter Olympics Day, everybody! Today is the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. We'll be following ice skating for sure. This is a short post, so we put up some pictures that are NOT ours. We are now sitting by the windows in the sun room, waiting for the Olympics to start. Bye!

Umbrella Day and Salem

Hi! Sonali and Gwen here, reporting about Umbrella Day!
This umbrella is a lovely shade of blue.
With a star pattern inside.
So pretty, all opened up.
Ahhhh....such a relaxing shade of blue.
And a great tent!
On the other hand, this Japanese umbrella has an elegant handle.
It's painted with cherry blossoms.
And the background is a bright, crimson red.
Salem is OK...
But is very pretty.

Just to tell you, the two Salem photos are not mine. Srujana forgot her camera when we went.

I still have some orange paper leaves to cut out, so bye!

Another Couture List!

Today, it will be another couture list! Here are now my personal top 5 clothing/couture pieces:
1. Purple Leggings and Tunic from Terristouch.
I just love the flowers on the silk, and the complimentary standing with the purple and dull yellow.
2. Jellies and Polka Dot Swimsuit from Terristouch.
Cute, pretty, one-piece, and the black actually looks pretty good on this swimsuit!
3. Petal Pink Outfit from American Girl.
Pretty and pink, with ruffles on it. Girly, but grown-up all the same.
4. Midnight Skate Outfit from American Girl.
The black looks good on this dress, and the leotard with the skirt looks magnifique!
5. Pretty Purple Rebecca Dress from Damsels in Dress.
What can I say? Pretty, purple, and cute.
I have to go now. I still need to finish cutting out yellow paper leaves for art class!

Happy Charles Dickens Birthday!

Happy late Babe Ruth's birthday! But today was Charles Dickens Birthday! Srujana and the dolls just came back from vacation today too, by the way. Felicity, Ruthie, and Kaya went to Salem. They went to See's Candies and Ruthie brought back chocolate for me, as promised. For dinner today, we are having bran cereal, kiwi, mustard greens and chicken, and nonfat cream cheese. Then, we have a special Charles Dickens reading until midnight. It's a fun event at school, according to Julie and Neela.
Srujana, Ruthie, Rebecca, and the teachers all had a meeting on whether to accept Molly into AGM. At our school, when a student wants to become accepted, they have to send an application and then the teachers, principal, Srujana, and two students of the teacher's choice have to review it and decide whether to accept the student in. Molly did not get accepted, and will not be coming to this school any time soon. Tap-dancing does not count as music according to the teachers, apparently. Oh-well.
Bye! I have to cut out brown paper leaves for an art project.

Detention and Ruthie

Today, I had detention. What happened was complicated. Rebecca has a big mouth, and she was chit chatting with Ruthie about how I have a D+ in science. Idk how she found out, and don't care why. Our math teacher is a mean person, and she came into the room. I made a paper ball, and threw it at Rebecca, but instead, it hit the teacher! She wrote me a detention. Rebecca hardly looked like she cared, but Ruthie looked guilty. At our school, detention means that you have to work at a job until the detention person says that you are free and the job is done well. It also means that you lose a privilege if it has to do with behavior and not just tardies or something small. Sooooo.....Srujana is not taking me to Portland with her. I couldn't wait! I hate Rebecca right now....

My chore was to sweep up the entire back patio until "there is not a speck 'o dust on the gound!" Quote Ms. Socratic.
Even though the weather was nice, the back patio could fit over two hundred dolls! It's huge! Then, Ruthie came. Sorrily, she asked if she could help.
I said that she could not, because it is against the school rules. She thought for a moment, and then said; "Srujana decided to take me to Salem. We'll be stopping for snacks. I'll get you some cookies or muffins for a sorry."

I said that there was nothing to be sorry for, but she insisted. I have to admit, I'm looking forward for those treats! Now I have art homework. I have to cut out red leaves for a centerpiece for Valentines Day.
At least I'm free of patio sweeping! Now I can post.

I was making valentines on a lovely Sunday afternoon.
My room was covered in fabric, ribbons, scissors, tissue paper, origami paper, and envelopes in shades of pink, purple, white, and red.
I started to draw a heart on a piece of fabric.
Next, I carefully sketched out a heart on tissue paper.
Then, I cut out my tissue paper heart.....
......and glued it onto the fabric heart!
After cutting out the fabric heart, I wrote, Neela Sen on the front of the envelope.
"Perfect," I said and thought.
But then Neela came into the room!
"Hey Sonal, what are you doing?"
I did not face Neela and I just said, "Um..nothing." Neela left.
I mailed my valentine.
And then I worked on my other ones.

As you can see, I don't have a picasa! It's probably because I'm not ready yet, I think. I don't really need one either, because I don't take that many pictures.

Valentines

I was very busy making valentines this afternoon, since it's the first day of February. Red, pink, white, and purple now surround my whole room. I was working on a light pink/white little quilt valentine for Gwen. It's the most special one. I'll be working on Chrissa's tommorow. I have all of mine done even though the party is not for two Sundays. Hurry up, days! I will post a photo story some time this week. But until then, bye!
