Uh-oh~trouble!

Well, 2010 is coming up. And Srujana is thinking about getting another doll! A JLY with chocolate brown hair and brown eyes called Samantha. Ahhh!!!!!!!!!!! I only just started getting used to Sonali.
Other than that, it was Sonali's first day today. Our first class is Social Studies. We are done with Ancient Egypt (finally!) and are moving on to American history. Our teacher said we may switch back later in the year to do Jews, but she decided that she was tired of Ancient Civilizations, especially Egypt and Mesopotamia. We made a list of companies in social studies that were bought by other companies. It was boring, especially when she lectured about the economy and bla-bla-bla. I think Sonali now has a bad impression of our teacher. I feel bad for Mrs. Smith because she usually is nice and fun. But today...broderbund, this, that, whatever!

Okay, so in terms of Holiday clothes, we all are predicting that Neela and I will have the best ones. Neela's sari is bright red, Christmas colors anyways, and because Rebecca now has her own pink holiday dress Srujana made, I will be wearing Rebecca's red dress. Srujana decided that Neela's dress was much too ugly. Ruthie will wear her everyday outfit, and Rebecca will wear that awful pink thing. Sonali will be wearing her everyday t-shirt, pinafore, and jeans for Christmas too.
Other than clothes, there is a little bit going on. Neela decided she likes Ritz crackers. I know this is pretty random to put on a blog. But she never liked Ritz crackers much. She added lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese and decided that a Ritz cracker sandwich is delicious. Today, I found out that Sonali likes Ritz crackers with a tiny bit of ranch dressing, pepper, and a tomato. I tried it, and it was delicious!

Yours Truly,
Julie Albright

PS: Sorry for the delay on pictures! They will be up by Saturday though for sure.

Holidays

Well now that the holiday season has officially started, we can start talking about that. As gifts, I have figured out Neela. Neela gets a straw hat from me. I know that Neela wanted one. For Rebecca, Ruthie, and Sonali, I'm not sure. I don't really know them that well as this is their first Christmas here. Hmmmm......still thinking.....
Goodbye!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Just so you know, this picture does
not belong to me. It belongs to Doll Closet. This is just a doll in a pilgrim costume to entertain you. Srujana took a picture of me and the other dolls as we were waiting for Sonali to arrive. It will be posted sometime this week.
Sonali is actually very nice! She came in and said shyly, "Hi, I am Sonali Matthews." We are having a Thanksgiving party! Is that not great? It is to celebrate Sonali, and Ruthie will be playing a flute duet with Sonali too.
Like I said, Rebecca and Neela's outfits were not so great. I wore my normal outfit, neatly washed and without the belt, and Ruthie wore her dress, nicely pressed, with my leather belt.
Well,
A Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Closing for the day,

Sonali's Coming!

AHHHHHHH!! Sonali has already been ordered! And Srujana didn't even tell us! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! She was ordered last week! So she may come tommorow or the next day! Ahhhhh!!!
Well, Thanksgiving is coming up. We dolls will be having a feast! And Srujana expects Sonali to arrive by then, so she will be there too! We will post our first pictures. Barley, papaya, red peppers, fish, and yogurt and bacon is what I want to have. But we will probably have the casual Thanksgiving dinner along with brown bread and butter, strawberries, green peppers, shellfish, and milk. Yum! Thinking about food makes me hungry.
In class, we are reading The Egyptian Cinderella. We are studying Egypt and cultural stories, so this fits in perfectly. It's a good story.

We will be seeing a movie! Yes, A Christmas Carol in 3-d next week! Wonderful, no? Anyways, in pre-algebra, I began to think about Sonali. Maybe she won't be a mean bee. After all, all the other Sonali's in the blogosphere are nice. I am starting to be neutral on the situation. By the way, I love Melody Valerie's holiday line too! But I don't think Srujana can afford any of it right now. She has still a little bit more to go for Sonali. But she is definetely getting her.

New Clothes!

Hello people! Guess what? Srujana will be sewing, or trying to sew a new Indian langa jacket for Neela. A langa jacket is a very short jacket with a skirt. She also will be trying to make Rebecca a dress. I am pretty relieved that I'm not part of this. Last time Srujana claimed she was going to sew a magnificent dress for me, it turned out to be a long sleeved jacket and a pair of pants with lots of threads sticking out and it came apart in three months. She hand sews for us mini dolls, so that makes it even harder for her. She made an OK dress for Ruthie though...a pastel pink dress with lace trim. She decided to use some dresses from American Girl as a model.

OTHER BIG HUGE GIGANTIC NEWS!
SONALI IS COMING!
We all hope that this is just a rumor, except Neela and Ruthie, but Sravya keeps talking about having 80 dollars.....ten more.......and then five.....fourteen for shipping....... and so and so. Will she be nice? Or mean? Hmmm.......we wonder.......

Well, here are my favorite books. We got the idea from Roses are Read, by the way. Anyhow, here they are!
1. Weedflower-A book with class. It has an elegant style of writing and cover. It is about a girl who lives in an internment camp during World War 2.
2. Kira-Kira-An excellent book by the same author.
3. Bat 6-This is for the Oregonian baseball lover and for anyone else. An awesome story! Srujana reccomended these first ones to me. She is crazy about historical fiction, partly because of American Girl.
4. Pippi Longstocking-Hilarious!
5. Matilda-A book about a clever funny girl.
6. Chinese Cinderella: A story of an Unwanted Daughter-Sad, true, but a really nice story
7. Call me Hope: Another Oregonian book. But it is really for anyone.
8. Girl from Yamhill: Yet another Oregonian book. This one Srujana is crazy about. It is an autobiography of Beverly Cleary, an Oregonian author.
9. On My Own Two Feet-Sequel to Girl from Yamhill.
10. Climbing the Stairs-Neela reccomended this one to me. It is about when the British were ruling India. You must read it! It has to do a little with social class also, and female rights, among other things.

Introduction: Part 2

Hey there! I am Julie Albright. Here is more about ourselves. As you don't know, we all go to the Daisy American Girl Academy of Music. We all play instruments. I play the drums. Rebecca and Neela sing. Our school is tiny, and we have an elective choice of French or home economics. I chose home economics as did Neela, but Rebecca chose French. The kitchen is called "The Cooking Zone", and we bake something different every day or sew once in a while. Today, we baked cookies. Chocolate chip! My favorite.
I'm looking forward to blogging as well as Rebecca, but Neela doesn't seem too interested. Oh well. Bye!

Introduction

Hi! I'm Rebecca Rubin. I came here to Oregon in May. This is a new blog that Srujana created for us. The dolls here are Neela Sen, Julie Albright, me, and Ruthie Smithens, in order of arrival. We are all minis except Neela, who is a Girl of Many Lands. We all hope that Srujana will not get a big doll, because they may be mean. But she is saving up anyways. We don't know who for. Well, this is our first post, and I hope you like it. This is just an introduction.
Talk more later!
Bye!
Rebecca R.
