Basketball Game

We played the alumni Darlene School of Achievement for American Girls in a basketball game. The alumni thought they had a great team, but our varsity took them down a peg. They played well, I guess, but we still won~so yippee!

Ecuador

Kaya is now in Ecuador. She is going to Galapagos National Park today, and is very excited. She said it's a nice change after the bustling city of Copenhagen. Next, she will be going to Fiji, and can't wait.
I am busy practicing my flute, but I have been taken more and more interest in the piano and violin. At our school, we are required to take music, so Neela takes singing and plays the ekdara, Julie plays the drums, Rebecca sings, Ruthie plays violin and a little flute, I play flute and a little piano, Felicity plays guitar and sings a little, Gwen plays the harp mostly and violin sometimes, and Kaya played the drums. Julie was very reluctant to share her drum set, so Kaya decided to play the timpani. And she is very good at it! Ruthie was practicing a tarantella the other day on her violin, and I just listened, dazed by the material of the piece.
I sat down at the piano, and played the hardest piece I KNEW. It was the the famous Bach minuet that every pianist can play if they have been playing more than two years. I'm not very good. Srajana's friend E. can play Cat and Mouse by Aaron Copland. She just started, but she is at a flying speed! She says she needs to work on it at least the whole summer! Wow!
In the evening, I worked on my summer homework. It was to write a gavotte or tarantella. I decided to make a gavotte, because they are generally shorter, and easier to play, so they must be easier to write, right? But no! The notes float in my head easily, but I can't remember what the octaves and rhythms are at all! Oh-well.

Life

Sooo....today is a huge Indian Celebration! I am performing a dance called Akasamlo with friends, which goes to this song. I am also doing another song on the violin, but the video is sort of weird, so I'm not posting a link to that.
Now in the dolls' life, they had an earthquake. Their school is littered in stuff, and it'll take months to fix the school. Also, they are in desperate need of more clothes, but I CANNOT BUY ANYTHING until the day after school lets out. Urgh!
Neela-Hairband with jasmine, earrings, necklace, 1 sari, 1 school dress.
Julie-Plastic hairband, blouse, belt, jeans, flip-flops.
Rebecca-Hair clip, alien outfit, dress, stockings, boots.
Ruthie-1 pajama, 2 casual dresses, shoes, socks, headband.
Felicity-1 ribbon, 1 dress, socks, shoes.
Sonali-1 hat, 3 hair ties, 3 shirts, 3 skirts, 1 pair of jeans, skates, 3 pairs of shoes, 1 pinafore, 1 pair of tights.
Gwen-1 headband, 1 belt, 1 dress, 1 skirt, 1 shirt, 1 sandals.
Kaya-4 hairties, 1 dress, 1 shirt, 1 skirt, 2 shoe pairs.

Quick Update!

I despise them! They are driving Kaya and I crazy. Seriously, though, I hate it. Me gusta mucho dar lecturas. Here is one of them;

"Julie, honestly, how would you feel if someone came up to you, and said that your hair looked like caterpillars compared to how you looked on the front of the book? No, it doesn't matter if it's true or not. You need to quit it! For one, Kaya's hair is beautiful, though not as beautiful as her older sister's, and secondly, caterpillars are usually yellow, not black, so you should consider your own blonde hair more like a caterpillar than Kaya's! Now quit it and go back to posing for your team captain of the volleyball team pictures of which Kaya is on."

Well, talk to you later!

Post 43

It is post 43 day! Wow. Martin Luther King Day is coming up, we are getting new dresses, Gwen is here, and to top it off, pictures on the blog tomorrow! Srujana is singing some song, "Pathani Pathani", over and over, it is stuck in my head. Sonali's ready for spring, and at home, we are enjoying our three day weekend. Srujana is not buying any stuff, which is sad. She insists on making everything for us, which is bad because my only decent clothes now are a sweater, my peasant blouse, and jeans and sandals. Srujana just can't sew! We are also setting up Kaya's room. That's right, Kaya Aton My will be the next addition to the Academy!

Bye! Pictures tomorrow!

All About Me, Sonali

Hi! This post is all about me, Sonali. My full name is Sonali Mythri Matthews. That means Golden Friendship Son of Matthew. My best friends are Gwen Thompson, who will be coming any day now, and Chrissa Maxwell. I love swimming too, but there is not a swim team at this school. There is only basketball and gymnastics exhibition, which is showing off a routine without competing. Here, my best friends are Julie, Rebecca, Ruthie, and especially Felicity. In terms of friends, here is a vague list.
Neela-Ruthie, Julie, and Felicity.
Julie-Neela,Rebecca, and me.
Rebecca-Julie,Ruthie, and me.
Ruthie-Neela, Julie, Rebecca, me, and Felicity.
Me-Julie, Rebecca,Ruthie, and Felicity.
Felicity-Neela, Ruthie, and me.
As you can see, Ruthie is the most popular girl here at AG Music. And actually, I am turning out to be sort of popular too. It's kind of cool that you can be popular for not being mean. In a weird way.
Well that's all for today!

Singing Show

Neela, me, Rebecca, Ruthie, Sonali, and Felicity all sang great. And Neela even was given a new outfit! Srujana will put up a picture on Saturday or Sunday.

Neela will begin to attend the helping-out club with Ruthie at the academy for her elective now. She does not like drama class at all. And Ruthie was all alone in the class.

In other news, Gwen will most likely be coming as the 2010 doll here.

Sorry for the short post! I have a ton of math, and Srujana is too grumpy to let me use the computer because she was given a D- on her math test.

Bye!

PS: Get it? Bye Julie?

Comments

Here are a few of my own comments:

1. I love comments! Not to be rude or anything, but....
2. P.E. is awesome now! OMG, we have, now, a......balance beam! I mean, is it not amazing! This is the first sports equipment other than playground balls and hula hoops we have had ever at our school! It is in the gym, and it's actually olympic sized! (For Dolls), what's sad is that it's only for mini dolls. It's too small for Sonali and even Neela. Julie is the only one interested in gymnastics anyways though.
3. We have stockings on the mantel of our new fireplace now! Thank you Avery-here for the idea!

Well, I have to go help Julie with her balance beam routine now.....

No-Kaya Conversation

Um...so....we have had this no-more-Kaya sort of conversation. No one here really does want Kaya. Here is how the conversation went.
(We are looking at a picture of Kaya in the AG Catalog....

Julie: Why does Srujana like her so much? She just has two other outfits!
Neela: Pretty much, she likes her because she rides an Appaloosa, and was the first AG series she read.
Rebecca: Really?
Neela: Yep.
Ruthie: Maybe she is not so bad, I mean she boasts, but she comes out strong in the end of the series....
Julie: Who cares?
Me: Julie is right. She also sounds old. I mean, really, 1764.
Ruthie: Maybeeeee.......
Well, that's how it went! I now need to work on painting a picture of an aspect of science for art. I like our art teacher, but she gives sooooo much homework. Sorry for not posting lately. Rebecca has been gone to visit family, and Julie and I was busy.

Uh-oh~trouble!

Well, 2010 is coming up. And Srujana is thinking about getting another doll! A JLY with chocolate brown hair and brown eyes called Samantha. Ahhh!!!!!!!!!!! I only just started getting used to Sonali.
Other than that, it was Sonali's first day today. Our first class is Social Studies. We are done with Ancient Egypt (finally!) and are moving on to American history. Our teacher said we may switch back later in the year to do Jews, but she decided that she was tired of Ancient Civilizations, especially Egypt and Mesopotamia. We made a list of companies in social studies that were bought by other companies. It was boring, especially when she lectured about the economy and bla-bla-bla. I think Sonali now has a bad impression of our teacher. I feel bad for Mrs. Smith because she usually is nice and fun. But today...broderbund, this, that, whatever!

Okay, so in terms of Holiday clothes, we all are predicting that Neela and I will have the best ones. Neela's sari is bright red, Christmas colors anyways, and because Rebecca now has her own pink holiday dress Srujana made, I will be wearing Rebecca's red dress. Srujana decided that Neela's dress was much too ugly. Ruthie will wear her everyday outfit, and Rebecca will wear that awful pink thing. Sonali will be wearing her everyday t-shirt, pinafore, and jeans for Christmas too.
Other than clothes, there is a little bit going on. Neela decided she likes Ritz crackers. I know this is pretty random to put on a blog. But she never liked Ritz crackers much. She added lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese and decided that a Ritz cracker sandwich is delicious. Today, I found out that Sonali likes Ritz crackers with a tiny bit of ranch dressing, pepper, and a tomato. I tried it, and it was delicious!

Yours Truly,
Julie Albright

PS: Sorry for the delay on pictures! They will be up by Saturday though for sure.

Holidays

Well now that the holiday season has officially started, we can start talking about that. As gifts, I have figured out Neela. Neela gets a straw hat from me. I know that Neela wanted one. For Rebecca, Ruthie, and Sonali, I'm not sure. I don't really know them that well as this is their first Christmas here. Hmmmm......still thinking.....
Goodbye!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Just so you know, this picture does
not belong to me. It belongs to Doll Closet. This is just a doll in a pilgrim costume to entertain you. Srujana took a picture of me and the other dolls as we were waiting for Sonali to arrive. It will be posted sometime this week.
Sonali is actually very nice! She came in and said shyly, "Hi, I am Sonali Matthews." We are having a Thanksgiving party! Is that not great? It is to celebrate Sonali, and Ruthie will be playing a flute duet with Sonali too.
Like I said, Rebecca and Neela's outfits were not so great. I wore my normal outfit, neatly washed and without the belt, and Ruthie wore her dress, nicely pressed, with my leather belt.
Well,
A Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Closing for the day,
Julie Albright

New Clothes!

Hello people! Guess what? Srujana will be sewing, or trying to sew a new Indian langa jacket for Neela. A langa jacket is a very short jacket with a skirt. She also will be trying to make Rebecca a dress. I am pretty relieved that I'm not part of this. Last time Srujana claimed she was going to sew a magnificent dress for me, it turned out to be a long sleeved jacket and a pair of pants with lots of threads sticking out and it came apart in three months. She hand sews for us mini dolls, so that makes it even harder for her. She made an OK dress for Ruthie though...a pastel pink dress with lace trim. She decided to use some dresses from American Girl as a model.

OTHER BIG HUGE GIGANTIC NEWS!
SONALI IS COMING!
We all hope that this is just a rumor, except Neela and Ruthie, but Sravya keeps talking about having 80 dollars.....ten more.......and then five.....fourteen for shipping....... and so and so. Will she be nice? Or mean? Hmmm.......we wonder.......
